The Trainee programme gives a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of SEB. The programme comprises two parts: a common component of various courses and an individually designed component.

The common courses are divided into five blocks throughout the year. Some of the courses included in the programme are:

• Introduction to SEB
• Presentation technique
• Project management training
• Negotiation techniques

Each trainee will work at a “home department” during the traineeship. A tutor, together with the trainee, will design a tailored education programme that will include everything from product development to field trips and practical work at units in both the home division and other SEB divisions.

Exchanges with other units in and outside the home country will naturally be part of both the common and individual programmes.

All trainees will spend one month international internship during their year as trainees, where depends on the home division’s business and location.

Who we are looking for?

As a trainee at SEB, you will have graduated with a degree in business, engineering or the equivalent. You have either just graduated or worked for less than a year since graduation. Since SEB´s corporate language is English, you have to be fluent in written and spoken English, as well as in the local language in the country of your trainee assignment.

Apart from these basic skills, we also place value on experience from overseas study or work, and would ideally like to see people from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds among the applicants.

It is important that you enjoy and are interested in meeting other people, as visiting and learning about other parts of SEB is an important part of the traineeship. Curiosity and drive, combined with humility, are therefore important qualities.

What can you expect?

The traineeship provides an opportunity for you to learn about SEB and build valuable networks for your career. The success of your year as a trainee depends largely on how you embrace the opportunities provided.

To support you in this, you will have regular discussions during your traineeship with your tutor at your home department and regular development discussions with your immediate manager. These lead to an individual development plan in which goals and expectations are made clear.
