When applying to a trainee program or an internship you will need to attach a cover letter and your resumé (CV). Below you will find guidelines concerning the layout and content of these documents.
Cover letter
A well written cover letter can help you make a great first impression. The letter is an excellent opportunity to summarize your experience and key strengths. In the cover letter you should also point out why you're suited for the position in question.
Here are some key points:
- Be short and concise. A cover letter shouldn't be more than one page long, and your introduction should only take up a limited amount of space
- Send the letter to the correct contact person along with possible reference number. Also be sure to inform the receiver about where you found the information concerning the position
- Write the letter in first person
- Describe why you are interested and why your knowledge is relevant for the position
- Demonstrate that you have no problem with working hard
- Check for mispells and grammatical errors
- Your contact information is not relevant here, this information should be inserted in your resumé
